Good web designing tips

Good web designing tips
Anyone can make a website. Basic HTML will do the job. But let us all accept, few site actually sucks. Some are bad in designs and layout, some are low in content and the list goes on. These details are commonly the drawbacks of a website. Here are few basic elements on building a good web designing.

Content
The most essential factor for good web designing is to have quality and unique content. Most visitors go to a site for information that's the reason the content of your page should be unique and interesting enough for your viewers to come back. Wonderful graphics can be seen in a blink of an eye Therefore if your content is inadequate then chances are your user will go away your site and never come back again.Your content should provide what the visitor is looking for.

Title
It’s your website so it's upto you on whatever title you want for it. Keep in mind that, you should consider the credibility of your site therefore always think for the benefit of your viewers or at least think from their point of view because you are not the only one who visit the website. Good web designing needs your page title should be brief but depictive for two reasons. One is that it is the same term that will appear on the top of your page which will tell your guest what site they are browsing. Secondly, once your visitor bookmarks your site then it will be more easy for them not to edit it as it is already expressive enough.

Grammar and Spelling
Always remember to proof read because it could ruin the web site's reliability. Pay attention to grammar and spelling flaws.

Images and Fonts
For good web designing the structure comes in a little. Remember that each visitor has different browsers so layouts come out in a different way from each and every browser. But obviously it depends if it was verified and programmed well to be compatible with widely used browsers. Additionally, not all fonts are available on all computers. Therefore I suggest a commonly-used font. Don't be plagued by in getting all the images in your resources. Keep it simple. Anyway, it will just add up to you page load time specially if the image file is too large.

Page Length
Articles are different from web content. You can write a very long article but writing for web content is completely different. Web content should be small and brief. Usually, if the content of a page, mainly if it’s the index page, is long enough that the user will have to scroll down to read it then it will definitely bore them and wouldn't even bother to read that.

Links
For good web designing pick a quality link. This is your possibility to use your key terms for a higher ranking in search engines. The tool tip should also specify where the link is going to. Most significantly, the link should be related to your website to prevent being a link farm

Contact us form
This form is very helpful because you would never know if a user is encountering difficulties with your site. This way, not only you can get feed backs from your guests, but also you can correct the problem quick. In making a site remember that you are trying to please your target market and not just yourself. Step into their shoes and check if your site will catch the attention of your market

Website Designing Ideas
Making a good, easily available and functional site needs good graphic design, easy and intuitive site navigation, logical site layout and good web copy. The following suggestions are general website designing guidelines.

Web Content

You want the viewer to perceive you as a great information source and/or an established business. Poor grammar and spelling will immediately minimize your reliability. Remember that people use the internet to obtain information. Whether you are selling your own product or recommending someone else’s products, you must first offer important information to the viewer or they will move away and find a site that provides them what they what they are looking for.

Cross Browser Compatibility

There are at least a hundred different browsers in use. You must consider a website designing to work properly in the largely used browsers. To achieve that you may not be able to use all of the really nice special effects because they may not be supported in most web browsers.

People do not necessary consider to update to the latest versions, even though most web browsers are free. The common surfer might not know how to update their browser or have the attitude, “If it works, don’t fix it.” Remember your visitor may have a PC, a MAC, a Linux box, a PDA or a cell phone and they all use different web browsers.

Great website designing requires your web pages to work in Microsoft Internet Explorer, Netscape, Firefox, Opera and Safari at least. Validating your HTML code will help but the final test is to view your site in various browsers running on different platforms.

Graphics and Photos

Visitors are impatient. Always optimize your photos and other graphic files to have as small a size as possible without compromising image quality since studies show that most people would navigate away if a webpage is taking longer than 10 seconds to load.

Its a good website designing practice to use the height and width properties on the picture so the remaining page can load while the graphic files is downloading. Always use the ALT HTML tag so people with graphics turned off and those using hand held devices know what the image represents.

Background Colors

If you use anything other than white behind text, remember to give link colors otherwise the user’s browser will find out what color the links are which can make them unreadable.

Multimedia

Multimedia comprises flash movies, video clips, audio clips and background music. Good website designing requires you to use streaming media as it lessens download time. Be sure that the visitor can stop and start multimedia files or skip them if they want in case of flash introductions. That way people with slow connections or devices that don’t support multimedia can ignore them.

Importantly, insert any significant information displayed in multimedia in text also so the visitor does not miss that significant information without using multimedia. If a plug-in is required to use the multimedia, do provide a link to it so the user can install it.

Site Navigation

Site navigation is considered the key aspect for good website designing.Site navigation should be easy and user-friendly. Studies have shown if a user cannot access the information they are looking for within three clicks, they would navigate away the site. This is called the 3-click rule. Every region of your site should be accessible within three clicks from any place on the site. If you use anything other than plain text links, ensure to test your navigation in all the major web browsers.

Links

Good website designing requires regularly analyze all site links to make sure that they are good. Nothing chases a user off faster than broken links. There are Numerous free online services that will periodically check your links.

Frames

Avoid using frames, since they make it difficult for user to bookmark separate pages and you want people to bookmark pages so they can get back.
